Scientists have received evidence of the existence of two planets of the solar system in the same orbit. They are located in a small planetary system 370 light years from Earth. Planets with a common orbit are called Trojan planets. “Two decades ago, it was theoretically predicted that pairs of planets of the same mass could rotate in the same orbit around their star. Our work is the first evidence that such a world could exist. We can imagine a planet sharing an orbit with thousands of asteroids, as in the case of Jupiter, but it amazes me that the planets can have a single orbit,” says Balsalobre-Ruza. According to scientists, for now their discovery is probably a thick cloud of dust and only part of the planet.
