In Britain, the scripts of the iconic wedding episodes of the series “Friends” were put up for auction.

Scripts for two episodes from season four will go under the hammer in Hertfordshire, auction house Hanson Ross has announced.

The unique papers were put up for auction 25 years after they were found in the trash of the Fontan studio, which no longer exists.

“Fans of the American television comedy “Friends” have a chance to bet on the original scripts of the popular show, which were found in the trash 25 years ago.

The lot is estimated to be worth at least £800. The auctioneer told Sky News he had already received higher bids.

Both scenarios take viewers back to 1998, when Ross, Monica, Joey, Chandler and Rachel travel to England to watch Ross marry his fiancée Emily in London.

The auctioneers say all copies of the scripts the actors had had to be destroyed after filming ended in London to prevent the ending from being leaked.

However, one of the employees of the “Fountain” studio, where two series of “Friends” were filmed, accidentally found the scripts in the trash.

The man took them and then forgot about the find. So the scripts lay in a drawer by the bed for 25 years.

It is not known who owned the scripts. But they were marked with the name of John Lanzer, a British scenographer.

“I found them in a dumpster a few weeks after filming. It was part of my job to make sure everything was clean and litter-free.

I didn’t know what to do with them, so I just put them in a drawer in the office. I remember wondering which of the actors they could belong to”– recalls the 60-year-old Englishman.

A Londoner who worked at a studio kept the papers in a drawer for 25 years

The man left the Fontan studio in 1999. When it was necessary to clean the desktop, he simply washed everything into a large cardboard box.

“I forgot the scripts were there. They were mixed up with a bunch of papers, I didn’t find them until a few months later when I looked in the box. They ended up in the nightstand by the bed, and they’ve been there ever since.

I could easily throw them away. I was recently cleaning out my house before moving and came across them again”– recalls the pensioner.

A man recently visited family in Hertfordshire. Then he decided to take the scripts to the auction house for evaluation.

“Funnily enough, I’m not a big ‘Friends’ fan. I don’t have any animosity towards the show, but I’ve only recently watched the episodes that I have scripts for.

American humor is different from ours. These scripts deserve to be received by a big Friends fan– the man thinks.

The man wants his find to be purchased by a true fan of the series

The American sitcom Friends, created by David Crane and Martha Kaufman, ran on NBC from 1994 to 2004 and lasted for 10 seasons.

The last episode of “Friends” aired 20 years ago, in 2004, but it is still watched by millions of viewers.

The series is ranked 21st on TV Guide’s list of the 50 Greatest TV Series of All Time.
