On January 2, 2023, in Kherson for the first time in 141 years of observations, the maximum air temperature rose to +14.5°C, exceeding the previous record of 1953 for this day by 2.2°C. Another temperature record was set on January 3. At that time, the temperature in the city was +12.3°C – 0.2°C higher than in 1953. Several temperature records were set in Kherson in January 2023. On January 18, the average daily air temperature was +11.8°С, which is 5.1°С higher than the previous record temperature for this day, recorded in 1993. The maximum air temperature rose to +13.2°С, exceeding the previous record of 1993 for this day by 1.3°С. The minimum air temperature in Kherson did not drop below +9.6°С. The previous warmest night on this date was recorded in 1956 at +7.8°С. The very next day, January 19, on the Epiphany, in Kherson for the first time in 141 years of observations, the average daily air temperature was +11.8°C, which is 3.8°C higher than the record temperature of 1952 for this day. The maximum air temperature rose to +16.2°С, surpassing the previous record of 1955 for this day by 4.6°С. The minimum air temperature in Kherson did not drop below +9.3°С. The previous record value was recorded in 1956 and was +8.4°С. On January 20, a temperature record was also recorded in Kherson. For the first time in 141 years of observations, the maximum air temperature rose to +12.8°С, surpassing the previous record of 1952 for this day by 2.2°С. We will remind you that the average daily air temperature in Kyiv on January 18 was +7.3°C. This indicator is 9.8°С higher than normal and corresponds to the weather in early April.
