Singer Manizha recorded a video message after the terrorist attack in “Crocus”

The singer Manizha, who represented Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021, published a video message after the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall near Moscow.

“Every summer I spent in Dushanbe with my grandmother. These were the best vacations in my life. My grandmother taught me a lot, for example: “eat only from the side of the plate that is facing you” – Tajiks eat pilaf from a common plate. Today, my grandmother has been gone for 14 years. And for the past few years, I have been thinking a lot about the fact that I am glad that she is not experiencing what is happening to us and to the world. And I am also glad that the consequences that will fall on the Tajiks and all residents of Central Asia will not affect her. And I’m also glad that she didn’t see that brutal night, doesn’t see how public torture becomes the law in response to a blatant atrocity.

I know that despite all my words, Grandma is still here. Because she is talking to me because of all these numerous messages from people who believe that the killer has no nationality. That after all, despite all the horror and darkness, we must remain human. Thanks to all those who still leave hope.”

After the terrorist attack in “Crocus City Hall”, as a result of which 139 people died, the singer expressed her condolences to the families of the victims.

“It’s scary how innocent people die. It’s scary when someone has words to justify it. It’s scary that you put your daughter to sleep 10 kilometers from the burning hall where your last concert was once, and now people are being shot in it” , – the singer wrote on Instagram.

The SilSila Foundation, founded by the singer, opened a group of crisis psychologists who are ready to provide free assistance in connection with the terrorist attack.

• On March 23, the FSB reported to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin about the detention of 11 people in connection with the shooting in the concert hall. Four of them are directly suspected of the attack. They arrived at the entertainment center in a white Renault, and after killing the visitors and starting a fire, drove away in the same car and were detained in the Bryansk region. The other seven detainees, as claimed by law enforcement agencies, could be related to the preparation of a terrorist attack.
• Appointed lawyers defending those accused in the Crocus City Hall attack faced life threats. They are required to refuse participation in the process.
