Six Messi shirts will be sold at the auction. They are valued at more than $10 million

Argentina national team captain Lionel Messi’s T-shirts, in which he played at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, will be put up for auction. Their total value is estimated at more than 10 million dollars.
Sotheby’s London auction reported this. Bidding will last from November 30 to December 14.
“The sale of these six shirts is a monumental event in the history of auctions, as it offers fans and collectors the opportunity to touch Messi’s crowning achievement.” – says Bram Wachter, head of Sotheby’s modern collectibles department.
At Sotheby’s, the T-shirts put up for auction are called artifacts of Messi’s legacy.

“They represent the culmination of a career full of hard work and an undying passion for the beautiful game. Messi’s path to the 2022 World Cup was not an easy one, so this victory has inspired generations of footballers and fans.” – noted in the London auction.
It quotes Messi’s reaction to winning the World Cup:
“It was great. That day changed everything for me. We finally got what we dreamed of, what I wanted for so long in my career. It finally happened.”
The set of shirts, including the one he wore in the World Cup final on December 18, could be the most valuable collection of sporting goods ever to be auctioned.
Part of the proceeds will be used to support the needs of children with rare diseases.
In May 2022, at the Sotheby’s London auction, Diego Maradona’s T-shirt, in which he scored a handball against England in 1986, was bought for $9.3 million. It is currently the most expensive football item sold at auction.
