Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina lost to Klara Towson from Denmark in the first round of the ITF W100 tournament in Oeiras (Portugal), losing the match point, writes with reference to Bolshoi Tennis of Ukraine.

In the second set, Svitolina managed to fight back, trailing 3:1, and went ahead 5:4. In the tenth game, the Ukrainian lost the match point to her opponent’s serve. Towson was in the lead with the same score in the third set as well, Elina regained her opponent’s advantage, but was unable to defend her serve in the tenth game.

The tennis players spent two and a half hours on the court. During this time, Svitolina served three times, made as many double faults, made seven breaks and lost six games on her serve.

Svitolina could not win the second match in a row with a match point: last week she lost in the second round of the ITF W60 tournament in Kyasso. The Ukrainian played four matches after her return to the Tour and lost three of them, while winning the opening set in each.
