The child screamed in pain: a shark attacked a 10-year-old boy in the Bahamas

In the Bahamas, one of the predators attacked a 10-year-old boy while snorkeling in an aquarium with sharks. The child was taken to a hospital, her condition is stable.
As The Telegraph reports, the incident happened at one of the Bahamian resorts, which consists of hotels, casinos and water parks.
The Royal Bahamas Police Force said a boy was bitten on the right leg by a shark while snorkeling at a shark tank at a local resort. The incident is being investigated.
“When the little boy went down we saw the shark target him and then we saw a pool of blood“, one of the witnesses said.
According to him, the child was screaming in pain. She was taken to the medical center on the island, and the rest of the visitors escaped from the aquarium.

“Walking with sharks” is one of the recreation services that was available on the resort’s website.
“Using state-of-the-art helmets made of clear glass, guests of the resort can walk along the bottom and find themselves “nose to nose” with the guardians of the lost world of Atlantis. No swimming experience is required“, the information said.
The aquarium has seven different species of sharks, including the two-meter long Pacific blacktip shark and the great hammerhead shark, which can grow up to six meters. Only one of all species represented there is listed as safe for humans.
