The Commercial Court of the Zhytomyr Region has returned to the state ownership a landmark of local importance – the Tereshchenko manor house in the village of Chervonoy (Zhytomyr Region). In 2000, the building of the palace and part of the adjacent territory, contrary to the law, were given for free use, and later became the private property of the UOC (MP). In it, it was requested to invalidate the agreement between OJSC “Chervonensky Sucharik” and the Zhytomyr diocesan administration of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from 2000 on the free transfer of Tereshchenko’s estate, to cancel the certificate of private ownership of the buildings of the Holy Christmas of Christ Chervonensk monastery, and also to claim ownership of the monastery in favor of the state non-residential building of the monastery with an area of 2802.7 square meters. m and two utility buildings with an area of 1264.7 and 394.5 square meters. m. In August 2022, the Berdychiv prosecutor’s office began the process of returning the monument illegally transferred to the church through the court. Appealing all court decisions on refusal, the prosecutor’s office reached the Supreme Court. In December 2022, he supported the position of the Zhytomyr Regional Prosecutor’s Office regarding the illegality of the transfer of the Tereshchenko Palace to the ownership of the UOC (MP).
