He faces imprisonment for a term of up to eight years, the police of the Lviv region informs. With the help of forged diplomas, the man received academic titles of associate professor and professor, scientific degrees of candidate of sciences and doctor of sciences, as well as an honorary scientific title. “He was regularly accrued and paid all relevant additional payments. In general, the amount of illegal payments received by the perpetrator during these years is about 700 thousand hryvnias,” the police say. In 2012, as the law enforcement officers found out, the man provided another fake diploma of a doctor of legal sciences of the same capital university and received the academic title of professor and a promotion. The man worked at this educational institution until 2016, after which he moved to another Lviv university, where he headed one of the departments until 2022. The man is suspected of committing criminal offenses. The sanctions of the articles provide for punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term of up to eight years.
