For patients with severe injuries, the rehabilitation period was increased from 42 to 168 days. Rehabilitation services are provided free of charge as part of the Medical Guarantee Program, the Ministry of Health informs. Civilians and military personnel with severe injuries, including spinal cord injuries, amputations or severe traumatic brain injuries, can now undergo eight rehabilitation cycles instead of two. “The areas of rehabilitation should be understood as types of rehabilitation care. For example, when a patient needs neurological and psychological recovery at the same time,” the ministry notes. Earlier, the ministry noted that rehabilitation services are provided in 244 institutions across the country. In inpatient conditions, they can be obtained: on the referral of the attending physician; in case of transfer from a medical institution or a clinical unit of a hospital. All services are provided free of charge. Their cost is fully covered by the National Health Service of Ukraine under the Medical Guarantee Program. It will be recalled that the adviser to the president told how the approach to the rehabilitation of wounded soldiers has changed.
