The first mobile pharmacy started its work in the Kharkiv region. The project covers 80 settlements of the region and will operate exclusively in rural areas where there are no stationary pharmacies.
Mobile pharmacies should solve the problem of drug availability in villages, the Ministry of Health says.
During the period of martial law, they can also work in frontline territories and emergency zones.
In mobile pharmacies, both non-prescription drugs and medicinal products sold according to a prescription – it can be paper or electronic – will be dispensed.

“Now residents of 80 settlements of the region will be able to get the medical drugs they need for treatment, including those covered by the state program “Affordable Medicines”, i.e. free of charge or with a small surcharge ❞, said Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko.

Narcotics, psychotropic substances and precursors will not be sold in mobile pharmacies.
The department notes: patients will receive information about the arrival of the mobile pharmacy from their family doctor or local authorities. The route will be formed in accordance with the needs of the communities identified by family doctors and taking into account the security situation in the region.
The vehicle is equipped with a cash register and refrigeration equipment, has temperature and humidity control.

The car contains the inscription “mobile pharmacy” and information about belonging to a certain pharmacy or pharmacy network.
According to Viktor Lyashko, the state is currently cooperating with “Ukrposhta” in order to deliver medicines to all regions of the country according to the principle of a mobile pharmacy.
“We expect that our postal operator will also become a medicine delivery operator and in the near future will deliver medicines to every remote settlement in our country“, he noted.

The Minister of Health also emphasized that the cost of medicines in a mobile pharmacy will not differ from that established in the general network of pharmacies.
