In the Carpathians, the first snow of the year fell on Mount Ivan Pip.
This was reported by traveler Lesya Chernyatovych on her Facebook page.
The day before, on October 7, the Transcarpathian Regional Center for Hydrometeorology warned of deteriorating weather conditions.
In particular, it was about frosts of 0–3°С, ice and precipitation in the form of wet snow.
As of the morning of October 9, it was clear on Mount Ivan Pip, the air temperature was -6°С, reported the Chornohir mountain search and rescue post.
Mount Ivan Pip is located on the border of the Ivano-Frankivsk and Transcarpathian regions. It is one of the highest in Ukraine – its peak reaches 2028.5 meters in height.
