After that, roughly two weeks later, demolition of building 158 will begin,” she wrote at the time. Nechitailo added that Banksy’s work, which has already become a cultural asset of this neighborhood, will be preserved: “Don’t worry about the painting of the world-famous artist Banksy, which is placed on this building. The painting will be dismantled separately and saved. This work of art is already a cultural asset of our neighborhood.” In November 2022, British photographer Ed Rehm, who recently photographed graffiti similar to Banksy’s work in the liberated Raisins, published photos of several works in the style of the British artist from the Kyiv region. One of the first photos was a picture from Borodyanka, not against the background of the dilapidated inner wall of the house, a drawing was visible: a boy throws a man in a kimono on his back. “I wonder if it could be Banksy or is it an imitation?” – the photographer wrote then. In total, seven works of the artist were found in the Kyiv region – one of them was located right in the center of Kyiv, on Independence Square. On November 17, Banksy confirmed the authorship of these works on his Instagram by posting a video about their creation and his trip to Ukraine.
