The Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Oksen Lisovyi, told what he plans to change in the educational process. In particular, the minister wants to simplify education for children who simultaneously study in foreign and Ukrainian schools in order to obtain state documents on education. The head of the Ministry of Education and Culture reported this on the broadcast of “Breakfast with 1+1”. “According to various data, there are from half a million to a million children abroad. They study in local schools, the legislation requires that they study there. But at the same time, not everywhere, there are also gaps. But at the same time, they want to get Ukrainian certificates and Ukrainian certificates of basic secondary education. And they study in Ukrainian schools at the same time, overloading themselves tremendously,” the minister said. Lisovyi says that in such a situation, students are forced to choose, but it is necessary to make sure that this choice does not stand. “To make it as easy as possible for them to study in schools, leaving our vision. Yes, leave our unique subjects, universal subjects to be enrolled. There are also difficulties in synchronizing programs, but we must do it,” Oksen emphasized. The new head of the Ministry of Education and Culture spoke about other plans of the ministry, one of which is the maximum possible return to full-time education. For this, it is necessary to create a shelter in every school, which the Ministry of Education and Culture is already working on, the minister assured. “Online education, even if it is of high quality, produces huge segments that are important for personality formation – socialization, communication of children, development of soft skills. Therefore, first of all, we strive to bring the maximum number of children to classroom education, where possible,” – said Forester. Another task is to organize high-quality online education wherever it is impossible to bring students to face-to-face education due to danger. Oksen Lisovyi also wants to digitize the education system: not only to collect data, but also to optimize access to education through the creation of individual offices “Especially in the conditions when we have to rebuild, systematically organize work with donors, clearly set tasks for them, we need to totally digitize education, so that we can properly calculate the economy,” says the minister. We will remind you that on March 20, the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Education, Science and Innovation almost unanimously supported the resignation of the former Minister of Education Serhii Shkarlet. On March 21, the Verkhovna Rada appointed the head of the Small Academy of Sciences, Oksen Lisovoy, to the post of Minister of Education and Science. However, on the same day, Oksen Lisovoy was accused of plagiarism allegedly found in his 2012 PhD thesis in philosophy. The head of the Ministry of Education and Culture submitted a thesis for a plagiarism check to NAME and promised to give up the academic degree if the plagiarism was detected.
