Three exhibitions are available for viewing there – paintings by the spouses of Western Ukrainian modernist artists Margit and Roman Selsky, compositions by Boris Eisenberg, who died in the war, and wooden sculptures by Volodymyr Semkiv.

For now, only the first floor of the museum will be open to visitors. A few weeks before the opening, one exhibition hall on the second floor is being prepared.

“Working for a month made us understand that there is a certain part of the museum that we can use as an exhibition area,” – explains the director of the museum Kateryna Kulii.

According to the head of the institution, in a month and a half, it was possible to carry out primary emergency work, fix broken windows with sandwich bags and replace damaged doors. Restorative work was also carried out on Selsky’s paintings, which were dusted or fell immediately after the missile strike.

10.5 million hryvnias are needed for the complete restoration of the museum. This amount is necessary for carrying out all stabilization and emergency works. Most of the costs are ready to be covered by UNESCO and ALIF, an international foundation that takes care of the preservation of museums in the conditions of military conflicts.

Most of the money will be spent on stabilization work in the building itself. The administrative building was the most affected by the rocket attack. There are several cracks on the walls that need to be patched and the building saved from destruction.

In the future, the museum plans to work on exhibitions of works by modern artists. With all those who wish to exhibit there, they conclude a contract that takes into account the risks, they say in the museum.
