The capital’s law enforcement officers reported suspicion to a man accused of raping a 24-year-old neighbor. According to the investigation, the Kyivan promised the girl a gift and lured her to his home, Kyiv police reports. During the investigation, the police found out that the crime was committed by the girl’s neighbor – a Kyivan born in 1993 who had no previous convictions. “Under the pretext of giving a gift, the perpetrator lured a 24-year-old girl to his apartment, where he raped her. After the crime, the suspect released the victim and fled,” the police reported. The perpetrator was detained. Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office, investigators of the Sviatoshyn police department of the city of Kyiv informed him of the suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (rape). The criminal faces up to 5 years in prison. Currently, he has been given a preventive measure – detention without alternative.
