The President signed the law on medical care of the Armed Forces according to NATO standards: what will change

Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed the law on the organization of an adequate level of medical support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The document allows To the Ministry of Defense to approve protocols and standards for providing pre-medical and medical care based on NATO standards, it is said in the draft law card No. 10343.

According to the new law, the Ministry of Defense will be able to approve the list, quality standards and minimum requirements for specialized medicines used by the military during hostilities.

The explanatory note stated that its adoption will help meet the needs of providing military units with modern and high-quality medical equipment.

“The draft law is an important step on the way to ensuringprovision of a high level of medical care for Ukrainian servicemen, adapted to the best international practices.

It will not only improve the quality of pre-medical and pre-hospital care, but also ensure more efficient use of resources, optimization of treatment processes and, most importantly, preservation of the lives of Ukrainian defenders.”Deputy Minister of Defense Nataliya Kalmykova reported on February 7.

According to her, in practice, the law will help to improve the medical care of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces, since within the framework of the law, in particular, they have:

▲ unify treatment approaches in health care institutions of the Ministry of Defense of communal and state ownership;

▲ establish medical professional qualifications;

▲ approve lists of medicines and equipment that will be supplied according to unified standards.
