The Security Service of Ukraine exposed more than three dozen educators-collaborators who were involved in the integration of Ukrainian schools under the occupation. In 2023, 30 teachers were informed of suspicion of voluntary cooperation with the enemy, the SBU reports. Among the collaborators are the heads of the “education departments” created by the Russian occupiers, as well as directors of captured Ukrainian schools and lyceums. “The security service systematically exposes supporters of racism, who help the aggressor to implement Russian “education” programs in the occupied regions of the south and east of Ukraine,” the message reads. They also forced teachers to conduct classes in Russian according to the programs of the aggressor country. “In case of refusal, they threatened to “notify” the occupation authorities and intimidated them with persecution from the Rashists,” said the law enforcement officers. In the temporarily captured Severodonetsk, the head of the local “education department” of the LPR terrorist organization was also identified. Since the beginning of September last year, she has been actively “restoring” the work of educational institutions for the benefit of the Russian Federation, the SBU says. To do this, the woman called on local teachers to support the Russian invaders and become teachers in schools controlled by them. In case of agreement, she promised the loyal attitude of the occupiers and “salary” in Russian rubles. “In addition, the head of the “District Department of Education of the Novopskovsky District of the LPR” was exposed, who periodically organizes trips of teachers for “reformatting courses” to the Russian city of Voronezh,” law enforcement officers say. Currently, these and other persons involved have been notified of suspicion under Articles 111-1 (collaborative activity) and 111-2 (assistance to the aggressor state) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. “Comprehensive measures are underway to bring the culprits to justice,” the law enforcement officers added. The investigation was conducted by SBU employees of the Kherson, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office.
