The situation with hepatitis A in Vinnytsia is stabilizing – Ministry of Health

As of October 9, the situation with the incidence of hepatitis A in the Vinnytsia region is stabilizing.

This was reported by the Ministry of Health.

“45 patients remain in hospitals. 185 patients, including 32 children, have already been discharged”the department said.

In the Vinnytsia region, free emergency vaccination of contact persons – relatives and relatives, with whom patients with a confirmed diagnosis of hepatitis A have been in contact, live together or share a common life – is also ongoing.

It will be recalled that the Ministry of Health reported on November 8 that the outbreak of hepatitis A was contained, but the source of the infection is being sought. Isolated cases were also recorded in Ivano-Frankivsk region, Zakarpattia and Ternopil region.

Hepatitis A – the well-known disease of “dirty hands”, which has recently been spreading in Ukraine.

The most common signs are:

  • nausea;
  • elevated temperature;
  • weakness;
  • anorexia;
  • diarrhea;
  • vomit;
  • unpleasant sensations in the stomach;
  • darkening of urine;
  • jaundice (yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes).
