If the child’s father is a foreigner, then in order to obtain a passport, you need to take a certificate of registration of the newborn as a citizen of Ukraine. For this, it is necessary to contact a foreign diplomatic institution. The registration period is three months. It is possible to make a passport already in the presence of a certificate both at a foreign diplomatic institution and at the Passport Service. If the child was issued a foreign birth certificate, it is necessary to make an official translation and notarize it. In order to legalize a document, it is sometimes necessary to affix an apostille (a special stamp certifying the validity of signatures). You can not take the child with you to complete the documents. You need to have a photo of her, 10×15 cm in size, to enter a digitized image of her face. The cost of a child’s foreign passport is the same as that of an adult. In the units of the Migration Service, it is UAH 856 or UAH 1.5 thousand (depending on the urgency). In the “Passport service” centers, an additional fee is charged for the company’s service services, depending on the country.
