The story of a soldier whose legs were saved by doctors

Medics saved the legs of 38-year-old soldier Andriy Ivanyuk, who was seriously wounded in Zaporizhzhia.
The fighter plans to return to the front, reports the Ministry of Health.
Andriy Ivanyuk from Ivano-Frankivsk region almost lost his legs after a landmine flew into his trench last fall in Gulyaipol.

For about three days, the soldier was treated in Zaporizhzhia, but the local doctors were not ready to take on such a difficult case. The man’s left foot was pierced through by shrapnel, he also had an open fracture of his right lower leg and a shattered left knee.

A young doctor in Cherkasy helped save the man’s legs, where the wounded man lay for the next month and a half.
“Rick operates on everything, a young man, and he saved! He did two operations, repeated every other day. They lasted six hours, the first – even more. After that, they made a decision: not to cut off – we will fight! Nine operations there was only cleaning. Two a week.” – tells the military about the treatment.
Andrii underwent a long and painful treatment. His wife Tatyana was always with him.
