The winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics will donate money to a fund that helps Ukraine

Nobel laureate in physics Ferenc Krausz plans to spend his prize on charity and helping Ukrainians.
In particular, he will donate funds to the Science4People initiative, which helps rebuild Ukrainian schools. This fund was founded by Kraush himself in 2022.
The scientist announced this on the air of the German radio Deutschlandfunk, writes the Hungarian publication Portfolio.
The 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to scientists Pierre Agostini, Ferenc Krausch and Anne L’Huillier, who were awarded for “experimental methods that generate attosecond pulses of light to study the dynamics of electrons in matter.”
This year’s prize is SEK 11 million (over $700,000). The reward was divided between three scientists.

61-year-old Ferenc Krausch is a scientist of Hungarian origin who works at the Max Planck Institute of Physics in Germany.
In 2022, after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Kraush founded the Science4People initiative.
The organization provided Ukrainians with generators during blackouts, and also helped schools with technical equipment.
It will be recalled that the laureates of the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 2023 were scientists who contributed to the development of effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19.
The 2023 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to scientists Mungi Bawendi, Louis Brus and Oleksiy Ekimov “for the discovery and development of quantum dots”.
