Every year in March, activists of the “Yellow Ribbon” resistance movement hold actions to draw attention to the non-violent struggle that Ukrainian men and women are waging in the temporarily occupied territories.

In 2024, the information company received the name “Banner of Ferocity”. Its purpose is to make resistance to the occupation visible in the controlled territories.

Also, the organizers want to attract people to support the Ukrainians in the occupation, who all these years believe in the victory of Ukraine and continue to fight.

“The yellow color symbolizes the struggle. On the “Flag of Fierce” you can see that its fragments differ in shade. They embody each of the temporarily occupied regions and their resistance: the longer the occupation, the fiercer the struggle there and the fiercer the flag becomes“, explained the resistance movement.

Well-known Ukrainians took part in the action this year: Yevhen Klopotenko, Serhiy Prytula, Yevhen Kot, Vasyl Baidak, Pavlo Zibrov, the bands KALUSH and Latexfauna, as well as other leaders of public opinion.

They urged their audience to raise the flag of fierce struggle instead of and for the sake of those who are still under occupation and cannot do so openly.

“We call on all Ukrainian men and women in the controlled territories to raise the “Flag of Fierceness” to show their support to the people who, despite everything, are waiting for the return of Ukraine.

We urge you to spread the videos dedicated to the resistance of each region so far occupied, so that more and more people will know: the resistance to the occupation continues“, the Yellow Ribbon added.

The “Flag of Ferocity” information campaign is held during the Week of Resistance, which is traditionally celebrated at the beginning of March. It was during this period in 2022 that large pro-Ukrainian rallies were held in the temporarily occupied territories, where residents showed the world the inability of the Russian occupiers to break the spirit of the Ukrainian people.

In addition, the largest rally for Ukraine took place in March. It was held in Donetsk in 2014 and was called “10 thousand brave for 45 million single”. Unfortunately, this action was the last peaceful gathering in the city.
