Taking into account the difficulties in training young tennis players, their participation in competitions during the war and in difficult economic conditions, the Elina Svitolina Foundation, with the support of Novaya Poshta and with the participation of Ukrainian tennis players Elina Svitolina and Serhiy Stakhovsky, announces the introduction of an annual series of tournaments for Ukrainian tennis players under the age of 14 – Svitolina & Stakhovskyi Tennis Tour by Nova Post. The goal of this initiative is to support talented athletes, take care of the better future of Ukrainian tennis and draw attention to the problems that exist in sports in general and in tennis in particular. “Children are our future. In this extremely difficult time, it is necessary to support young athletes and create conditions that would motivate them to continue their tennis career. That is why we decided to establish a series of tennis tournaments and combine the efforts of my foundation and New Post, which not only is a leader of Ukrainian business, and certainly demonstrates an example of high social responsibility. Our goal is to create a favorable environment in Ukraine for the development of high-class athletes, to support and inspire talented youth,” Elina Svitolina emphasizes. Serhiy Stakhovskyi, a Ukrainian tennis player and a soldier of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, who is not the first to participate in the foundation’s initiatives, adds: “I am happy that we were able to accumulate efforts and establish a project aimed at preserving Ukrainian sports. Sports achievements of Ukrainians are our DNA, by which Ukrainians are known in the world. That is why it is so important, even during the war, to ensure that a new generation of athletes grows in the country.” “Nova poshta is always with those who are ready to take responsibility for creating prospects, for supporting others. Today, the country is fighting the enemy at the front, but we must do everything possible so that Ukrainian children can develop and see their future in Ukraine. The format of the Svitolina & Stakhovskyi Tennis Tour by Nova Post involves the holding of four qualifying tournaments and the Finals tournament. According to the results of the qualifying tournaments, the eight best boys and girls will be able to participate in the final tournament, where the final winners will be revealed, who will receive grant support in the amount of $20,000 (this amount will be distributed among the participants), further support from the Elina Svitolina Foundation and mentoring from the best tennis players of Ukraine – Elina Svitolina and Serhiy Stakhovsky. The first tournament will be held from July 31 to August 5 at the Campa tennis center in the city of Bucha, which is known throughout the world because of the terrible war crimes committed by the Russian army. The venue was not chosen by chance: we want to demonstrate that Ukrainians know how to fight, difficulties and pain do not stop them, but make them even stronger. So, they will definitely win!
