In the Kirovohrad Region, the search for the body of a child who drowned in the Ingulets River has been ongoing for the third day. The body of another has already been found.

According to the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service, one of the dead is an 8-year-old boy.

According to the rescuers, on January 20, a resident of the village of Oleksandrivka contacted the 101 service and said that she had seen two children who were on the banks of the Ingulets River. After a while they disappeared.

On the morning of January 21, rescuers discovered and retrieved the body of a boy born in 2015 from the reservoir.

“The search for the second child continues. The cause and circumstances of the child’s death are being established by experts”the rescuers said.

In a comment to “UP. Life”, the spokeswoman of the Department of State Emergency Services of the Kirovohrad Region, Oksana Machak, said that a local resident saw children riding on the ice.

“After her appeal, rescuers went to the scene, but the search did not yield results. The next day, divers went to the scene.

They covered more than 600 meters of water. They also searched along the course of the river”– said Oksana Marchak.

According to her, as of 2:00 p.m. on January 22, divers stopped surveying the reservoir, law enforcement officers are looking for children.

“The search continues, the child has not yet been found”– said the spokeswoman of the Kirovohrad region police Vitalina Bevzenko in a comment to “UP. Life”.
