Ukrainian polar explorers showed 15 hours of night life around the Akademik Vernadskyi station in half a minute.
Now it is summer and long daylight in the area of the station, reports the National Antarctic Science Center.
Filming lasted from five in the evening to eight in the morning at the end of January. So, as biologists note, the night time on the video can be tracked mostly by the lights on the station.
“See what a cool timelapse was taken by the meteorologist of the 28th UAE Oleksandr Poluden from Grotto Island, which is located opposite our Halindez, they are separated by about 200 meters of Mick Strait“, the post says.
Polar scientists add: the video also shows an interesting climatic feature: it is cloudy most of the time and the weather changes very rapidly.
“By the way, Oleksandr’s phone and tripod were very lucky that not a single bird laid eyes on them for 15 hours“, polar explorers joke.
