Employees of the “Akademik Vernadskyi” station showed how baby blue-eyed cormorants grow. Gradually, the babies are covered with brown fluff. The photos were published on the page of the National Antarctic Science Center. In the photo of polar explorers, blue-eyed cormorants are almost a month apart. In the first photo, there are newborn cormorants, they are very small and naked, they look like baby dinosaurs. Babies gradually become covered with brown down, about 2 months after birth. There are 2 colonies of blue-eyed cormorants, which are constantly monitored by Ukrainian scientists. One of the colonies has more than fifty nests, and the other has up to 15. Each nest has from 1 to 3 chicks. According to polar explorers, blue-eyed cormorants are similar to subantarctic penguins and often nest nearby.
