Ukrainian rescuers took second place among 17 participating countries at the Firefighter Challenge world championship, which is held in the USA.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service.
Pairs of participants in full armor competed against each other in simulated firefighting. The competition included 5 tasks, including climbing to a 5-story height, pulling hoses, rescuing a “victim”, etc.
“For 4 days, our indomitable boys and girls amazed the world with their courage and demonstrated great endurance and strength during the competition“, the State Emergency Service said.

There were 7 rescuers in the team:
- Oleksandr Baran;
- Volodymyr Dudka;
- Svitlana Marusenko;
- Maria Lebedynska;
- Roman Silchuk;
- Ihor Polishchuk;
- Maksym Bereznyuk.
It was not possible to overtake only the Polish team – the gap was several seconds.
We will remind you that last year Oleksandr Baran won the Firefighter Challenge in the “Men’s tandem” category.
