Volodymyr Bugrov, Rector of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, appealed to the President’s Office with a request to withdraw the petition for his dismissal. This allegedly violates his constitutional rights.

He confirmed such a request at a press conference, Interfax reports.

This letter is genuine. This petition violates the Constitution of Ukraine – I was declared a criminal without a court decision… It says that I am a corruptor and a thief. I believe this violates my constitutional rights“, said Bugrov.

Although the rector submitted a statement to the President’s Office, the petition was not removed from the website.

If the legal department or the appeals department of the President’s Office believes that there are no violations, then in the future we will act exclusively in the legal fieldand”, he noted.

We will remind, on January 23, a petition from Maksym Lutsyk appeared on the website of electronic appeals to the president. He asks the President to submit to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine a draft of amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education” regarding the termination of the contract with the heads of higher education institutions. In particular, due to the theft of state property, corruption and immoral behavior in wartime conditions.

In general, students have a negative attitude towards the rector of KNU. So, for example, Volodymyr Ksenich, a former student and head of the public organization “Chervonnyy Huber” collected 5 arguments against Bugrov as the rector of the educational institution.
