Voices Are Rising – Ocean Elsa’s first song in English

Group Okean Elzy released the first song in the history of the collective in English Voices Are Rising. It will be included in OE’s first English-language album.
The song was released on the day Ukraine suffered the largest Russian attack on Ukrainian cities and energy since the beginning of 2024.
“There should be long texts, stories and press releases. But today we want you to just listen to the song and, most importantly, remember that light will always overcome darkness. Our Ukrainian voices have already been heard thanks to those who defend, restore, and carry their light every minute! Maximum support for our energy workers today“, the band wrote, announcing the song.
Voices Are Rising
will be part of the English-language album that Okean Elsa announced recently. Then Vakarchuk recorded a video message in which he said that the album of songs in English was inspired by the Oscar victory of the documentary film “20 Days in Mariupol” directed by Mstislav Chernov.
“For the first time in the history of OE, we are releasing an album of songs in English“, the OE leader said then.
The band’s English-language album release date is currently unknown. In parallel with it, the group is working on a Ukrainian-language album, which promises to be released in the fall.
In February of this year, on the second anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, OE presented the first new song since 2022 – “Answer”.
