Measles is a dangerous and extremely contagious infection. 9 out of 10 unvaccinated people who came into contact with the patient also become infected. The Ministry of Health explained what to do if a child was in contact with an infected person and how to prevent infection. “If someone gets sick with measles at school, kindergarten or where you live, contact a doctor immediately. Infographic: Ministry of Health If a child is older than 6 months and has not been vaccinated, 1 dose of vaccine should be administered in the first 3 days after contact. If more than 72 hours have passed, still vaccinate against PDA as soon as possible. If the child has had 1 vaccination, the 2nd dose of the vaccine should be administered regardless of age. This should be done no earlier than a month after the previous dose of PDA. If the child has contraindications to PDA, immunoglobulin should be administered in the first 6 days after contact. Later administration will be less effective, but may alleviate the severity of measles. If the child has 2 vaccinations, he is protected. And additional vaccination against measles is not required. Symptoms include high fever, headache, runny nose, dry cough, enlarged lymph nodes, and inflammation of the mucous membrane of the eyes.
