Ukraine will switch to summer time this year on the night of March 30-31 at three o’clock in the morning Kyiv time.
The hands of the clocks will move one hour forward, which provides Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated May 13, 1996.
The clock is changed twice a year: on the last Sunday of March – to summer time, and every last Sunday of October – to winter time.
Earlier, Ukraine switched to “winter” time on the night of October 29, 2023.
We will remind you that the system of switching to “summer” and “winter” time was introduced to save electricity and extend daylight hours.
In the spring, the time is moved forward one hour, and in the fall – one hour back. The same system is followed by 60 countries in the world, except for Ukraine.
However, changing the clocks has a negative effect on the body, so the Council tried to abolish this practice. However, the draft law did not receive a sufficient number of votes.
