11 more children from Russia and the temporarily occupied territories were able to return to Ukraine. The evacuation was carried out by Save Ukraine volunteers, former children’s ombudsman and executive director of the charitable foundation Mykola Kuleba said. The foundation noted that a total of 161 children were returned home. “Thank you to everyone who supports us in this difficult, but such an important matter,” added the team. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, thousands of cases of child abduction have been recorded. The occupiers illegally deported children allegedly under the pretext of “recovery, evacuation from dangerous areas, the need to provide medical assistance”, etc. During the commission of crimes, Russians sometimes changed personal data. In particular, there were cases when they added age to children taken to “re-education camps” in Crimea. It is practically impossible for children to leave the Russian Federation and the temporarily occupied territories, because the Russians prevent this. According to the Children of War platform, 19,546 people have been forcibly relocated or deported so far. Earlier, we told the story of 14-year-old Andrii from the Kherson region, who managed to return from Crimea to Ukraine.
