The most important factor for the happiness of Ukrainians is their own health and that of their relatives. This is the opinion of 71% of the respondents who took part in the study by the Gradus Research company.

The participants of the survey were office workers aged 25 to 55 who live in Ukraine and seven other European countries: the Netherlands, Great Britain, Germany, France, Spain, Poland and Italy.

The results of the survey show that the happiest are employees from the Netherlands – they scored 7.5 points out of 10 possible. In second place is Great Britain, whose citizens rated the level of happiness at 7.4 points. Germany and France close the top three: they each scored 7.3 points.

Ukraine was in the last place in terms of happiness, scoring only 5.6 points.

“The happiness index of Ukrainians is at the mark of 5.6 points, which is obviously a consequence of Russian aggression and the security, economic and other consequences provoked by it.” – noted in Grand Research.

The results of the study also prove that Ukrainians’ priorities have changed since the beginning of the war. Yes, they call their own health and the health of loved ones the most important value. 71% of respondents gave this answer.

Respondents from the Netherlands, Spain, Great Britain, Poland and France gave the same answer. Instead, office workers from Italy and Germany indicated that their top priority was financial security.

In the second place among the priorities of Ukrainians is a safe and peaceful life (67%), and the financial component is in the third place (50%).

Naturally, the factor of security and peaceful life is also in the top of Ukrainian respondents. The share of those who chose this factor in our country is much higher than in other studied countries, especially compared to Italy and the Netherlands.

Poles declare the importance of the security factor closest to Ukraine, which is obviously related to cultural similarity and geographical proximity to Ukraine,” – the company explained.

The survey also revealed that justice in society is a condition for a happy life for 19% of Ukrainian respondents.

It is also interesting that for Ukrainian men compared to European men, the happiness of loved ones and justice in society are more important. On the other hand, for the interviewed women, having their own family is important.

“One should look at the change in priorities affecting life satisfaction: health and safety issues have become especially important for us, and with the duration of hostilities they will become even more important. The financial factor is also at the top.” Yevgenia Blizniuk, sociologist, founder and director of the research company Gradus Research, said.

The survey was conducted by the Gradus Research company by filling out a questionnaire in a mobile application or through an online platform. Audience of the survey: people aged 25-55 who live in big cities and work as office workers in the fields of production of goods/services or retail trade.

Earlier we told that the number of citizens who switched to the Ukrainian language in everyday life is increasing – currently their share is 65%.
