On April 17, Ukraine commemorates the event that took place in 1938, namely the shooting of representatives of the Crimean Tatar intelligentsia in Simferopol. As is known, the bloody actions were carried out on the personal orders of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the RS, the head of the government, Joseph Stalin. “A crime against the entire Crimean Tatar people. Our people still feel these irreparable losses. Educated, active members of society were destroyed,” – write the authors of the blog about Crimean Tatar culture Qirimname. They add that bearers of unique knowledge about language and culture were shot. Therefore, in the extremely difficult period of 1941-1945, the people were deprived of leaders and authorities. People were put on the so-called “Stalin lists” under the personal sanction of Stalin and his closest associates in the Politburo of the Central Committee of the CPSU for various punishments, mostly execution. Among them are the names of famous representatives of the Crimean Tatar intelligentsia, writers, deputies, teachers, public figures, candidates of medical sciences, linguists, scientists and many others. In total, 36 representatives of the Crimean Tatar intelligentsia were shot on April 17, 1938. Some of the most famous Crimeans who were shot on April 17: writer, teacher, public figure Asan Sabri Aivazov; MP, candidate of medical sciences Yakub Ablyamitov; scientist, linguist and teacher Yakub Azizov; cultural activist, poet, writer Osman Akchokrakli; cultural activist, artist, historian Usein Bodaninsky; writer and journalist Jafer Gafarov; MP Suleyman Idrisov; “These are only the most famous names from this list.
