She says that postpartum depression is a multifactorial disease. It can be influenced by both genetic factors and the birth itself, as well as the situation at home. Signs that may signal postpartum depression: behavioral changes; closed-mindedness; tearfulness; excessive anxiety; depressed mood; sharp mood swings: from euphoria to sadness; sleep disturbance; anorexia. “Nowadays, there are many effective methods of treatment, for example, medications, psychotherapy,” says Sofia Vloh.
