Alina Mykhaylova, a paramedic, deputy of the Kyiv City Council and the fiancée of the fallen soldier Dmytro Kotsyubail (Da Vinci), registered a petition on the website of the President of Ukraine about the creation of the National Pantheon of Heroes of Ukraine on the territory of Askoldov Mohyla Park in Kyiv. The Pantheon should become a place of honorable burials and commemoration of outstanding heroes of Ukrainian history: heroes of Krut, Kholodny Yar, Ukrainian Insurgent Army, “Heavenly Hundred”, “Cyborgs” and the Russian-Ukrainian war. Alina Mykhaylova proposed the capital park Askoldova Mohyla to host the National Pantheon of Heroes of Ukraine. “This is one of the most famous historical places in Kyiv, where soldiers and other outstanding personalities have been buried since ancient times. Here rests the Hero of Ukraine, volunteer Dmytro Kotsyubailo “Da Vinci”, commander of the first battalion “Da Vinci Wolves” 67 OMBr, there are memorial signs of Heroes of the Sky “Hundreds of defenders of Ilovaisk, Debaltseve, and Donetsk airports,” the petition reads. But even despite the occupation of territories and thousands of deaths, we still have not put an end to this debate. A full-scale invasion put all the dots on the “i”. No one doubts anymore, who is the hero of our history, and who is its dumping ground,” she writes. The author of the petition calls on the public to support the initiative and to give appropriate orders to the Cabinet of Ministers to develop the project and ensure the creation of the National Pantheon of Heroes of Ukraine. It will be recalled that the Kyiv city authorities planned to place a military cemetery on Lysia Gora in the capital, but later, at the request of the public and the Cabinet of Ministers, the decision on the arrangement of the cemetery may be canceled. After all, Lysa Gora is a regional landscape park and part of a nature reserve fund.
