A New Year’s tree was installed in the village of Kotsyubynske in the Kyiv region. It was decorated with drawings from the Russian cartoon “Masha and the Bear”, as well as an image of Santa Claus with the Snow Maiden.
This was reported by the former chief editor of the “Chesno” website, Iryna Fedoriv.
“They put up such a Christmas tree in my community. My fellow villagers write to me about it and are indignant, what the hell is “Masha and the Bear”, what is “Snow Maiden and Frost Maiden”?
You understand that only people who have no sense of values can light the Christmas tree “Masha and the Bear” and “Santa Claus and Snow Maiden” in 2023, – she is indignant.

The head of the Kotsyubyn settlement council, Serhii Danish, explained in a comment to “Ukrainian Pravda. Life” that the Christmas tree and decorations are already several years old, so no money was spent on their installation this year from the budget.
“This Christmas tree with pictures has been up for four years. We didn’t spend a penny to put it up. It’s just a decorative fence with pictures.
“Masha and the Bear” can be considered simply as a bag and a girl. There were no subtexts there. But I already ordered to draw, because they are blowing up “betrayal”.. And Santa Claus… It’s not him, but St. Nicholas!”, – Serhii Danish complains.

Iryna Fedorov believes that such actions of the village head are not wrong, but systemic.
“It’s not just Danish stomping – it’s a systemic story“, she added.
She reminded that in 2020, Serhiy Danish was elected the village head of Kotsyubynskyi from the “Servant of the People” party. Through joint activities with Volodymyr Karpluk (also a deputy from “Servant of the People”), Iryna Fedoriv emphasizes Danish’s connection with former party member Oleksandr Dubinsky.
