In the Lviv region, the senior students of the school in the village of Chervone were punished, who organized a “consecration” to the first-year students and brutally beat them.
The Department of Education and Science of Lviv OVA reacted to the incident and stated that it “categorically condemns any manifestations of bullying” of participants in the educational process.
The department stated that the culprits were expelled from the Chervonensky Higher Vocational School and evicted from the dormitory.
“The disgraceful incident that happened recently in one of the institutions is completely unacceptable from a moral, ethical, or legal point of view.⠀
Persons who taught inadmissible actions will be held responsible before the law after a police investigation, to which the management of the institution turned. The Department of Education reminded that, by law, parents are obliged to raise children’s respect for human dignity, rights, freedoms and legitimate interests, and also promised to take measures to prevent bullying.
“On the video that was distributed on the Internet, it was recorded how in the dormitory senior students mock freshmen, showing disdain for generally accepted norms and rules of behavior, disrespecting the dignity of colleagues.⠀
In turn, the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional Government is additionally introducing a number of measures to prevent and counter bullying in educational institutions.the department added.
It will be recalled that on December 8, the police of the Lviv region saw a video of how the senior students of the school beat the freshmen with boxing gloves, which made the younger students unable to stand on their feet.
The video of the beating spread on the Internet, and the police opened a criminal case. Offenders face restriction of freedom for a term of up to 5 years or imprisonment for a term of up to 4 years.
