In Italy, a 75-year-old man was crushed to death by thousands of heads of cheese when a shelf collapsed in a cheese factory. Entrepreneur Giacomo Chiapparini was found dead in his cheese factory on August 6, La Repubblica Milano and the BBC reported. The warehouse, located in Romano di Lombardia, east of Milan, stored more than 25,000 heads of Grana Padano, a hard cheese that resembles Parmesan and is popular in Italy. The man went into the warehouse to start the mechanism that turns the cheeses. Suddenly, the fall of one rack caused a domino effect – thousands of heads, each weighing 40 kg, fell from a height of about 10 meters. Rescuers have not yet found out the cause of the collapse: perhaps there was a malfunction in the mechanism that moved these cheeses. The general director of the consortium, which united cheese-making entrepreneurs, added that the company had lost a dedicated, hardworking and inventive entrepreneur. “Poor Giacomo was very unlucky. I don’t remember anything like this, even when there was an earthquake,” said Stefano Berni, CEO of Consorzio tutela Grana Padano. Giacomo Chiapparini is survived by his wife, two children and grandchildren. We will remind you that recently in Italy there was a hail of record size for Europe. Earlier, the Supreme Court of Italy allowed grandchildren not to visit their grandparents. Read also: In Australia, a man died as a result of an attack by a “domestic” kangaroo
