In Kharkov on the night of January 6, the famous linguist, professor and poet Vladimir Kalashnyk died.
This was reported in the National Union of Writers of Ukraine.
“Vladimir Semenovich Kalashnik, a famous Kharkov poet, linguist, a man of encyclopedic knowledge and a big heart, passed away. A heart in which there was enough room for everyone – both colleagues and students, and those who met only once on the road of life. A man of words, who served A word of my whole age. The Kingdom of Heaven and eternal gratitude to you, Vladimir Semenovych, for warmth and science!”, the message says.
For reference. Vladimir Semenovych Kalashnyk is the former head of the Department of Ukrainian Language at Kharkiv National University named after V. N. Karazin, doctor of philological sciences, professor, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Higher School of Ukraine, member of the Ukrainian Free Academy of Sciences (USA). Emeritus Professor of Karazinsky University.
Wrote works: “Phraseology of the modern Ukrainian language”, 1977, “Phrasal formation in the Ukrainian poetic language of the Soviet period”, 1985; “Peculiarities of word use in poetic language”, 1985; manual on the Ukrainian language. Compiler of “Dictionary of phraseological antonyms of the Ukrainian language” (2004).
Awarded an honorary diploma of the Verkhovna Rada. Excellent student of Ukrainian education. Vladimir Kalashnyk also wrote several poetry collections.
