Alina Pash, who previously won the National Selection at Eurovision 2022, withdrew her candidacy as a representative of Ukraine. She announced this on her pages in social networks.
“It is with a heavy heart that I am withdrawing my candidacy as a representative of Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest. Unfortunately, I am very sorry. We will contact the Public and sign all the necessary documents,” Alina Pash said.
According to the singer, the reason for the decision was the scandal surrounding the competition, which does not correspond to what she put in her song. Pash emphasized that she is a citizen of Ukraine, obeys the laws of Ukraine and carries the traditions and values of Ukraine to the world.
“I don’t have an army of PR people, managers, lawyers to resist all this attack and pressure, hacking of my social networks, threats. I don’t want this virtual war and hate. The main war now is the external one that came to my country in 2014 I don’t want to be in this dirty story anymore,” the singer wrote.
