In Kyiv, they presented a course on social and political events on the way to the formation of civil society since the beginning of Ukraine’s independence.

The course is free and available online in Ukrainian, you can register for it on the platform “Understood”.

It was created for representatives of the public sector, state and local authorities, educators, active youth and will be useful for everyone who is interested in the history of the development of Ukrainian society.

According to the organizers, the course also includes information about the background and course of the Orange Revolution, the Revolution of Dignity, the formation and development of independent Ukrainian media, the political and public life of the Crimean Tatars in Ukraine, about Russian crimes on the territory of Crimea, the history of Ukrainian civil movements and communities in Eastern Ukraine .

The training consists of 12 visual online lectures. Successful completion of the course leads to a certificate containing 0.2 ECTS credits or six academic hours and counts as self-study.

According to the organizers, an English-language version of the course will be released in the near future on the world-famous Coursera educational platform. In this way, the foreign audience will get to know the nature of Ukrainian revolutions, the phenomenon of mass resistance, and the values ​​that motivate Ukrainians to act. Journalist Ilona Dovgan and rector of the Kyiv School of Economics Tymofiy Brik participated in conducting the English-language version of the course.

The course was prepared by the Eastern Europe Foundation in cooperation with the Ukrainian Institute at the expense of the European Union.
