Erinchak is convinced that the opening of a new book space on Khreshchatyk should be an impetus for the development of the entire Ukrainian culture: “We are opening today, in the midst of a great war, because we believe that we should pay more attention to our culture. Culture doesn’t just entertain, teach or comfort it becomes a mouthpiece for changes and a driving force for the development of civil society“.

This will be the second “Sens” bookstore in Kyiv. The first bookstore-café of the same name opened on the eve of the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine in December 2021. Literally a week after the Russian attack, on March 1, “Sens” resumed its work for those people who remained in Kyiv. Later, the bookstore became a volunteer center. The bookstore became fully operational in May 2022, when most of the team returned to Kyiv.
