A little boy died in Ternopil during dental treatment: the police are investigating the cause

In Ternopil, a one-year-old and 10-month-old boy died in one of the local clinics.

However, during the procedure, the child became ill, reports the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Ternopil region.

As the law enforcement officers established, the mother brought her son to the state clinic to remove caries from the child’s teeth.

Since the child was one year and ten months old, doctors said that such procedures are performed only under anesthesia.

Before the operation, the family was referred for tests.

An hour and a half after the start of the operation, the child’s blood pressure began to drop, as a result of which the boy was hospitalized in the intensive care unit.

The boy could not be taken out of anesthesia, he later died.

“The cause of death will be known after the autopsy.” – said the law enforcement officers.

Investigators opened the case in accordance with Part 2 of Article 140 (improper performance of professional duties by a medical worker) of the CCU.

In a comment to “UP.Zhyttia”, the spokesman of the police of the Ternopil region, Serhii Kreta, said that the incident happened in the regional children’s hospital.

“After the incident, the boy’s mother became ill, she was in the intensive care unit for some time. According to preliminary data, the child had time to brush all but one of his teeth. During the brushing of the last one, the child’s blood pressure began to drop“, the spokesman added.

Earlier, we reported that a woman who did not seek medical help for her sick two-month-old son will be tried in Kyiv region, which led to the child’s death.
