In the capital, a new spacious enclosure was built for a family of Jako parrots, which were rescued a year ago. It created conditions close to natural ones, reports the Kyiv Zoological Park of National Importance. “We are pleased to present to you a new aviary (aviary – ed.) for rescued parrots that entered the zoo in 2022. Sick and frightened birds were brought to the Kyiv Zoo by police officers. Their gradual rehabilitation took place for almost a year,” the institution said. To ensure the comfort of the parrots, various devices were installed in the enclosure: toys; tree branches; feeders; decorative fountain; refreshing mist-drop spray. As noted in the zoo, a well-chosen diet, which consists of special granulated feed enriched with all the necessary vitamins and minerals, is important for the health of birds. Birds also enjoy eating fruits, berries and seeds. Parrots are cute. And also due to the destruction of tropical forests, where the jackals live. Therefore, this species of parrots has been given the status of “in danger of extinction”. A parrot in a new enclosure.
