The Animagrad studio presented the main trailer of the animated film “Mavka. Forest Song”. The cartoon, on which work began in September 2015, should finally be released on March 2 of this year. The authors released the preliminary trailer of the cartoon “Mavka. Forest Song”, which over the years passed a number of pitches and contests of the State Cinema and whose budget as of 2021 was estimated at 187 million hryvnias. He claimed that the all-Ukrainian animation rental will begin on December 29, 2022. Last December, “Mavka” based on the play “Forest Song” by Lesya Ukrainka was never released. And in January of this year, the authors announced that showings on big screens will finally begin on March 2, 2023. In the new trailer, the authors of the cartoon want to interest the viewer in the new winter image of Mavka, fantasy locations inspired by Ukrainian landscapes, beloved and unfamiliar animated characters. It is also the first time that you can hear the soundtrack “Language of the Wind”, performed by Khrystyna Solovii and Artem Pyvovarov. The team is sure that now, seven years after the start of work on the film, the plot of the animation has become more relevant. “When we started working on “Mavka”, we wanted to adapt Lesya Ukrainka’s brilliant “Forest Song” for family animation, make a happy ending, raise topics relevant to today, such as environmental issues. But we did not even imagine how strongly the plot would resonate with events that befell every Ukrainian in 2022 and continue today,” said the creative producer of the project, Anna Eliseyeva. The animated film “Mavka. Forest Song” will be released in Ukrainian cinemas on March 2. After the release in Ukraine, the cartoon will be widely distributed abroad. A frame from the movie “Mavka.
