In the USA, an unexpected lot was put up for auction – a place in the mausoleum next to the actress Marilyn Monroe. The cost of the right to be buried next to the legendary movie actress is estimated at 200 to 400 thousand dollars.

The auction description states that the place is for sale is “in close proximity” to Monroe, as well as to the founder Playboy Hugh Gefnerwrites The Telegraph.

In particular, this place is located one row above and four to the left of the burial place of the actress in Los Angeles.

A seat in the mausoleum is the most expensive of the 145 lots in the auction of items that once belonged to or are related to Monroe: here dresses, scripts, photos, actress notes, etc. All of them together are estimated at more than 760 thousand dollars.

“This is a very special and unusual auction featuring over 140 lots of Marilyn Monroe items, including unique exhibits.”– said the executive director of Julien’s Auctions Martin Nolan.

From the sale of the black evening dress of the actress from the film “Seventh Year Itch” (1955), labeled “M Monroe,” is expected to fetch more than $200,000. A furniture receipt for $228, which Marilyn paid the day before she was found dead in 1962, is valued at $5,000. And the script for the last unfinished film with Marilyn Monroe “Something and Give Back” (1962) – more than 30 thousand dollars. Lipstick brand Elizabeth Arden, which belonged to Monroe, is estimated at 9 thousand dollars.

Three works in 1953 brought her the greatest fame, and they gave her the title of one of the most profitable Hollywood performers – the film noir “Niagara”, the satirical musical comedy “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” and the comedy “How to Marry a Millionaire”.
