In Ujung Kulon National Park, located on the western part of the island of Java, a rare baby Javan rhinoceros was spotted.

The age of a baby rhinoceros is from 3 to 5 months, and the gender is still unknown.

Javan rhinos have folds of loose skin that gives the impression that they are wearing armor.
Once the population of these rhinos was considerable – they lived throughout Southeast Asia. However, the animals have suffered greatly from rampant poaching and human encroachment into their habitats.
According to preliminary estimates, there are currently 82 rare rhinos living in Ujung Kulon Park. The area of the reserve reaches approximately 120 thousand hectares, it has lush tropical forests and many freshwater streams.
