A soldier’s dog was shot in Lviv Oblast: they returned from the front together – News

In the village of Kupichvolya, in the Lviv Region, unknown persons shot and killed the dog of a military paratrooper Oleg “Oduvan” Vladychka. The dog was with the defender during the hostilities.

The incident happened when the man temporarily returned to his native village due to injuries, reports the All-Ukrainian public organization “Union of Volunteers”.

They note that the reason for the dog’s killing could be the military man’s speech against holding a disco in the village with a contest in which the first person to jump on stage and shout: “I’m alive” will win the prize.

In the comment for “UP. Life” Oleg Vladychko said that he asked the organizers “not to do such a thing”, because “now it is not so good”. In response, the neighbor swore at him.

“Three hours after this conversation, I returned home and noticed that the Baron was gone, although I had tied him up before leaving.“, the fighter adds.

Later, a dog with a gunshot wound was found in the yard of one of the neighbors.

The man suggests that neighbors who disliked him because he barked could also have killed the dog.

“He was kind: so cheerful, looks at you and smiles, barks. Sometimes, people were afraid of a big dog, but conflicts never arose, because everyone simply saw that he did not show aggression.

Our friendship began when Baron was a puppy. We spend a lot of time together in the east. He was very faithful. Loved SAUShki (self-propelled artillery installations – ed.). From time to time I came from duty, and the Baron was not there. Then I started the self-propelled gun and the dog ran to this sound – he knew that I had returned“, – says “Oduvan”.

In a telephone conversation, the senior investigator of the task force asked him to remove the bullet from the dog’s body himself, the soldier says.

“But I didn’t do it because I know it’s a violation“, – adds “Oduvan”.

He assures that the investigation is not progressing. In this regard, at his request, the head of the VGO “Union of Volunteers” filed a crime report with the police.

“I am waiting for the investigators and the forensic medical examination, so that the case will be investigated as a criminal case“, says Oleg Vladychko.

In a comment for “UP. Life”, the spokeswoman of the police of the Lviv region, Svitlana Dobrovolska, said that the search for the animal’s body is currently underway. After that, investigative actions will be initiated.
